General update

The annual litter pick and tidy-up in St Johns took place on the morning of Saturday 14th March. Over 20 residents as well as Councillor Graham Cundy attended.

After an absence of nearly nine months, the roundabout has been replaced on the children’s playground on St Johns Lye. Maintenance contractors Serco are also in the process of repairing the football goalposts and nets on the Lye near Festival Path. 

A community event has been arranged to take place at St Johns Church between 10.30 am and 5 pm on Saturday 28th March 2009.This will be a ‘fun day’ which will include live music, games, dance recitals, refreshments and a free car wash by volunteers in the car park.The event has been organised by church youth workers and Surrey Police.For more information please contact me on 01483 743806. 

St Johns Road and the Wych Hill area is still seeing contractors from gas and electric companies carrying out essential maintenance work. We will continue to work with the workmen and Biffa Waste Services to ensure minimum disruption to waste collections.

The newsletter following the Tune-In event at Freemantles School, Mayford has been posted on community boards at St Johns, Mayford and Hook Heath.
