Hoe Valley - highways

Major works to replace Elm Bridge and significantly improve the junction between Kingfield Road and Westfield Avenue have now been completed.

The former bridge was a pinch point for the Hoe Stream, which exacerbated flooding in the area, and was extremely narrow, limiting both vehicle and pedestrian space. The new bridge has a significantly wider mouth, removing the pinch point to allow water to flow underneath more freely, and provides sufficient space for improved pedestrian footpaths, a cycle path and wider road carriageways that will increase safety for everyone.
