Flytipping is the illegal dumping of waste. It can vary in scale significantly from a bin bag of rubbish to large quantities of waste dumped from trucks. Fly-tipped waste may be found anywhere, such as roadsides, in lay-bys or on private land.
A wide variety of wastes are fly-tipped. These include rubbish, large domestic items, such as fridges and mattresses, garden refuse, tyres and clinical waste. Large amounts of waste from construction, demolition and excavation activities are sometimes dumped.

Fly tipping on public land is removed by Serco, on behalf of Woking Borough Council. However, if the fly tip is causing a danger on the public highway, it is the reponsibility of Surrey County Council.
If you have an enquiry regarding fly tipping, you may wish to complete a form online, which will be forwarded either to Serco or to the relevant department in Surrey County Council.
Further information on fly tipping can be found by visiting the Environment Agency.
Flyposting is the act of placing advertising posters or flyers in illegal places.
In most areas, it is illegal to place such posters on private property without the consent of the property owner or on public property without consent.
This can quickly become a significant problem if left in place. Removal of fly posting from public places is the carried out by Serco, on behalf of Woking Borough Council. However, if the fly posting is on the public highway, it is the responsibility of Surrey County Council.
If you have an enquiry or would like to report an instance of fly posting, you can either view the link to Surrey County Council or use the contact information for Serco. Alternatively, please use an online form.
