Overview and Scrutiny Committee meetings

The Overview and Scrutiny Committee is responsible for examining all functions and responsibilities of the Council. The Committee helps ensure that the Council delivers its key aims and objectives, by creating an open, transparent mechanism for Councillors to shape, question, evaluate and challenge the Council policies, decisions and performance.

Responsibilities

The Overview and Scrutiny Committee has the power to review and scrutinise:

  • the priorities and objectives of the Council;
  • the policies the Council adopts to meet those objectives;
  • the Council's performance in meeting those objectives;
  • the decisions taken by the Executive, Committees and Officers; and
  • services or issues which affect the well-being of people in Woking.
