Review of Parliamentary Boundaries

The Boundary Commission for England have published their initial proposals for substantial changes to Parliamentary constituencies in England. The number of constituencies must be reduced from 533 to 502, and must have an electorate between 72,810 and 80,483 electors.

The review was published on 13 September and maps of changes proposed within the South East are held at the Civic Offices, Gloucester Square, Woking, Surrey GU21 6YL.

There are three proposed changes to the Woking County Constituency:

  1. The Byfleet ward will be added to the Runnymede and Weybridge County Constituency.
  2. Surrey Heath's Bisley ward will be moved from the Surrey Heath County Constituency to the Woking County Constituency.
  3. Guildford's Pilgrims ward will be moved from the Guildford County Constituency to the Woking County Constituency.

The electorate for the Woking County Constituency would decrease from around 74,330 to 73,570.
