Careline alarm and Telecare services

"It gives me a safe feeling of not being alone and is like having a guardian angel at a mere arms length away." Mrs B of Brookwood

What is Careline?

A 24 hour emergency call system that we can easily install in your home. It consists of a special base unit and a pendant trigger that can be worn discreetly around your neck or on a wrist strap. Urgent referrals can be installed within 24 hours, Monday to Friday.

In an emergency, whether you are in your house or garden, press the pendant and the base unit will call the Care Centre. This enables you to speak to trained operators without getting to your phone and you can be heard from another room. Even if you are unable to speak or we can't hear you, the operator will know who is calling and send help. They act immediately to alert your relatives, neighbours or emergency services.

What other services does Careline provide?

  • A Careline visitor to visit you regularly to check the alarm and update your details, offer advice, support and assistance and make referrals.

  • The Careline visitors are based within the Home Support team. This means that in an urgent situation, e.g. a fault developing with the alarm equipment, a response can be provided between 8am and 7pm every day of the year.

  • An `enhanced' service is available for clients who require additional support. A home support officer will visit weekly for an hour to help with paperwork and provide company for example. There is an additional charge for this service.

  • We work closely with carers, health and social care professionals to ensure that the client's needs are met. We can refer you to other relevant agencies, for benefits and attendance allowance for example, or help to organise disabled badges, home improvements and more.

  • Telecare sensors linked to the Careline will raise an alarm call when activated:

  • smoke detector
  • bed and chair occupancy sensor
  • pill dispenser
  • fall detector
  • flood detector
  • property exit sensor
  • carbon monoxide detector
  • gas detector.
