New Members

Woking Youth Council has increased its membership.

In April 2007 the youth council increased the amount of councillors that could sit on the youth council from 24 to 30. As a result the youth council have been able to welcome 5 new members since September 2008.

The youth council now has councillors from all senior schools in the Borough as well as some of the schools out of the Borough and private schools who accept young people from the area.

The new youth councillors who have already got involved with Knives Wreck Lives campaign and helping organising the upcoming winter event.

We still have some vacancies for more new youth councillors. If you would like to join please fill in the application form.

Lantern Making and Diwali Parade

During the October half term youth councillors met at The HG Wells Centre to make a lantern that is to be used during the Diwali parade on Friday 7 November.

The youth councillors spent the day sawing, sticking, glueing and bending the lantern into its shape.

The youth councillors will be in the parade so look out for their lantern!
