New Year, New Members

 

Woking Youth Council started 2009 by welcoming more members to the group.

The youth council set a limit of 30 youth councillors at the AGM in March 2008. We now only have one place left !

If you would like to join to the youth council and feel you can make a difference to your local community, to the borough and can represent all young people's views why not fill in the application form?

Woking Wishes - December 2008

It was a cold, wet Saturday in December when the youth councillors held their event, outside Starbucks in Woking town centre.

The aim was to ask people to help create a paperchain with their wishes for 2009 written on the back. Also available was some silver cards in the shapes of snowman and Christmas trees that anyone could decorate with glitter, stickers and pens.

Although the weather made it difficult the youth council still had a number of people come up and make donations and decorate the various items.

All the money went towards their chosen charity, CHASE. This was added to the money raised in the summer. The youth council will hold one more event before announcing the final total raised in April 2009.
