These pages are designed to give you a little bit of information about who is who - from the prime minister to your local councillor, about what new laws, rules, regulations or strategies are being implemented and discussed which will affect you as well as contact details of the people who are here to help you and represent your views!

Government to local council - who is in charge, and how do all the different levels fit together?

Who does what?

In Surrey we have a two tier system, a county council and a borough council. Each take on different repsonsiblities so find out who to contact about schools, roads and new outdoor equipment.

Who's your local councillor?

If you have an issue or query your local councillor should be able to help. Find out when you can talk to them at local surgeries.

Woking Youth Council represent views of every 13-19 year old in the Borough. They also run events and support various charities.

Surrey Youth Parliament has representatives from all the boroughs and look at wider county issues. In turn, one young person from here will also sit on the UK Youth Parliament.

Woking Borough Council and Surrey Police hold regular Tune In Events which allow residents to discuss the priorities that they think should be dealt with and to also give some suggestions on how best to tackle them. Find out when your nearest Tune In event is.
