As part of the Local Development Framework research, a Retail and Commercial Leisure study was carried out for the Council by DTZ Pieda in November 2004.  It provides an assessment of the vitality and viability of Woking Town Centre, and produces quantitative retail and leisure capacity forecasts for the Town Centre and West Byfleet. The study meets the requirement to carry out such studies set out in Planning Policy Statement (PPS) 6.  Please note that the appendices to this report have not been published on the website but that they are available for viewing at the Council offices.

The Retail and Commercial Leisure study 2004 indicates that there was 69,500 m2 of retail floorspace in Woking town centre in 2004.
