As part of the Local Development Framework research, a Town, District and Local Centres study was carried out for the Council by Roger Tym and Partners in October 2009. It provides an assessment of the vitality and viability of centres throughout the borough, in addition to quantitative retail and leisure capacity forecasts and strategic direction recommendations.

Industrial and office

At 1 April 2007, there was 484,000 sq.m of office floorspace in Woking Borough, 188,000 sq.m of factory floorspace and 135,000 sq.m of warehouse floorspace- source: Commercial and Industrial Floorspace and Rateable Value Statistics 2006 (2005 Revaluation).
