Help and advice for businesses

Woking Borough Council recognises that the economic climate is continuing to present difficulties to residents and local businesses.

In partnership with Woking Town Centre Management, it launched a website in October 2009 for the business community, called Woking Works. The site offers a free, online directory for Borough businesses, opportunities to advertise special offers, job vacancies and business premises free of charge, and signposting to business support.

In addition, the Council worked with Woking Chamber to produce the Green Business Guide in November 2011, detailing how businesses can profit from sustainable practices.

The Council also joined with local partners to jointly fund the business continuity website, to direct businesses towards free help and advice in preparing for potentially disastrous incidents.
