Welfare benefits and tax credits

There are many other benefits available that are not paid by the local authority.

These include benefits for:

  • Working age people.
  • Disabled people and carers.
  • Families and people with children.
  • Retired people and people planning for retirement. (Also see Pension Service)

For further information about these benefits please vist the HM Government website.

For other benefits please see the Department for Works and Pensions A-Z of benefits.

Tax Credits are paid by the Inland Revenue. Tax Credits On Line provides more information about how much you could be entitled to and how to claim.

Please remember that if you have a claim for housing or council tax benefit and you start to receive any other income or benefits you must advise the benefits section at Woking Borough Council immediately and provide evidence of the money that you are receiving.
